Trees, windbreaks and mulch create cooler, moister pockets on the land. Crops grow better in that shelter, and our demonstration site shows farmers how to design it.

Microclimates
Malawi's rains are less predictable than they used to be. Permaculture helps families cope with that change and slow it down. Umodzi Sisonke designs regenerative farms with permaculture ethics at the centre. We work with rural villages to restore soil, harvest water, and plant diverse food systems that feed households first. The goal is not short-term aid. It is lasting control over food, seed, and land.
